1. Who can purchase the Texans Conquer Cancer specialty license plate?
   
   Any registered vehicle owner in Texas who wants to help those fighting cancer!
   
   
   
2. How do I get one?
   
   You have 3 options:
   
   
   1. Order online. Go to the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) ordering website by clicking here.
      
      
   2. Print and complete an application from TxDOT's ordering website (click here and mail it to your local county tax office.
      
      
   3. Visit your local county tax office.
   
   
   
   
3. When can I order mine? When will I receive it?
   
   You can order your specialty license plate at any time. You do not have to wait until you receive your renewal notice. It will take 2-3 weeks for your set of plates to be manufactured from the time the order is received.
   
   
   
4. How much does the license plate cost?
   
   The cost is $30 per year, or $70 per year if you want to personalize your plate ($30 for the standard fee plus $40 for the cost to personalize). Please note that specialty plate fees will not be refunded once the application is submitted.
   
   
   
5. Where does the money go?
   
   Of the $30 spent on the standard fee, $8 goes to TxDOT to cover administrative costs for issuing specialty plates. The other $22, every penny of it, goes to patient support services! License plate funds for patient support services are kept in an account administered by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. The agency then awards grants to non-profit organizations in Texas who provide support services for cancer patients, including assistance with wigs, prostheses, nutritional supplements, transportation to treatment, utilities, mortgage/rent assistance, and more! 6. Does the program get more money if I get a $70 personalized license plate?
   
   No. The program's funds are only based on the $30 standard fee.
   
   
   
7. Is the $22 tax-deductible?
   
   Absolutely!

   First buy a plate! You will be joining other Texans who are proudly displaying their commitment to helping patients fight cancer. 9. The picture of the Texans Conquer Cancer license plate on the home page and on the brochure says "4 NED". Is "4 NED" significant in some way?
   
   Many people choose to personalize their license plates to honor a loved one or to convey a message of hope and support. Examples of such plates are "4HOPE", "CURIT" (Cure It), and "4 MOM". The "4 NED" plate is owned by Charlsa Bentley, who wanted to honor her late husband, Ned Stark, and his battle with colon cancer.
